  • 1/4 cup (50g) sugar (for filling)
  • 1 egg yolk (for filling)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by combining dry ingredients, then adding wet ingredients until a shaggy dough forms
  2. Knead dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic
  3. Let dough rise in a greased bowl for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size
  4. Prepare creamy filling by beating all filling ingredients together
  5. Punch down dough and divide into 3 equal portions, rolling each into a 20-inch rope
  6. Braid ropes loosely and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet
  7. Let rise 30 minutes, then brush with egg wash
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown
