Creamy Resurrection Rolls

  • Total Time: 2 hours (including rising)

Description

These Creamy Resurrection Rolls are a delicious Easter tradition that tells the story of Christ’s resurrection through baking. With a flaky exterior and melt-in-your-mouth marshmallow center that disappears during baking, these sweet rolls make the perfect Easter morning treat with meaningful symbolism.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 large marshmallows
  • ¼ cup butter, melted (for brushing)
  • ½ cup cinnamon sugar mixture

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the dough by combining yeast mixture with melted butter, egg, flour, and salt in a stand mixer for 5 minutes.
  3. Roll dough into a 12×18 inch rectangle and cut into 12 equal squares.
  4. Dip marshmallows in melted butter and cinnamon sugar, place in dough centers, seal tightly, and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Bake at 375°F for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Use fresh yeast for best rising results
