Description
Delicious Resurrection Rolls are heavenly sweet and fluffy treats, perfect for Easter celebrations. These buttery, symbolic pastries carry a message of renewal and hope, with a marshmallow center that melts away—just like the empty tomb! Easy to make and full of meaning.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 8 large marshmallows
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
- ¼ cup cinnamon sugar (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until frothy.
- Prepare the dough by mixing flour, salt, softened butter, yeast mixture, and egg. Knead until smooth.
- Shape the rolls by cutting dough into squares, placing a marshmallow in each, and sealing tightly.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. The marshmallow will melt, leaving the rolls hollow inside.
Notes
- Ensure milk is warm but not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
- Seal dough tightly around the marshmallow to prevent leaks.
- Let rolls cool slightly before serving—melted marshmallow will be very hot!
