Easy Resurrection Rolls are heavenly sweet rolls with a meaningful twist, perfect for Easter celebrations. - 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 16 large marshmallows
- 2 tbsp melted butter for brushing
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Combine warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add 2 cups flour, salt, and cinnamon. Mix then gradually add remaining flour. Knead for 5 minutes.
- Let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 16 pieces. Roll each into a 4-inch circle.
- Place a marshmallow in center of each circle and seal dough tightly around it.
- Place rolls seam-side down on baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and let rise 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- Use fresh yeast for best rising results
- Ensure milk isn’t too hot or it will kill the yeast
- Seal marshmallows completely to prevent leakage
- Add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract for extra flavor
