Perfect for your Easter celebration, this easy-to-follow recipe yields delicious results every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (for brushing)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tsp cinnamon (for filling)
  • 8 large marshmallows (symbolizing Jesus’ body)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by dissolving it in warm water and letting it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare the dough by combining the yeast mixture, warm milk, sugar, melted butter, salt, and egg in a stand mixer. Gradually add flour and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, flatten each into a circle, place a marshmallow in the center, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and wrap the dough around it, sealing tightly.
  4. Place rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Use fresh yeast for the best rise.
  • Ensure the marshmallows are fully enclosed to prevent leaks.
  • Let the rolls cool slightly before serving—the filling will be very hot!
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
