Description
Resurrection Rolls with a Twist are more than just a delicious treat – they’re a meaningful Easter tradition that tells the story of Jesus’ resurrection in the most delightful way. These sweet, cinnamon-sugar coated rolls transform ordinary crescent dough into something extraordinary, with a hollow center that symbolizes the empty tomb. Perfect for family gatherings, Sunday school lessons, or simply as a special breakfast.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 large marshmallows
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles
- Melt butter in microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals until liquid
- Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in small bowl
- Dip each marshmallow in butter, then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture
- Place coated marshmallow on wide end of dough triangle and roll up tightly, sealing edges
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to your cinnamon sugar mixture
- Make sure to seal the edges well to prevent marshmallow from leaking out
- Let rolls cool slightly before serving – the melted marshmallow will be very hot
- For a more dramatic empty tomb effect, use jumbo marshmallows
